Fun things to do, five days a week!

Our daily activities come from people’s interests and suggestions so there is hopefully something for everyone.

Our daily activities

If you would like to come to any of them and have never been before, just let us know you are coming so we can make sure there is a warm welcome for you. Our activities are all very relaxed and a lot of fun.

In addition, we offer return transport on our fully accessible minibus for people who couldn’t get to us otherwise and who live in the Richmond Hill ward. Transport is currently available for Monday’s Bank Café, Tuesday’s Light Lunch Club and Thursdays’ Big Lunch Club. We will pick you up from your front door, take you back again and it’s only £2 for the return journey.

Monday

The Bank Café

Get the week off to a great start with hot breakfast sandwiches, as much tea and coffee as you like and plenty of good company. Sandwiches are just £1, and drinks just 50p. Held at Richmond Hill Community Centre, 11am until 1pm.

Exercise in Disguise

Professional tutors Lily and Louise run this exercise class where you can do as much or as little as you like, and it can even be done seated. Their routines are tailored so you can do them at home too to help with strength, balance and posture. The group meet at Richmond Hill Community Centre, 1:30pm to 3:30pm and the group is free of charge!

Monday Hoe Down!

Our tutor leads a line dancing group for all levels of experience. Whether you’ve done it before or not, there is a lot of fun to be had. The group takes place at Edmund House Social Club on Pontefract Lane from 1:30pm to 3pm and the classes are £3.50.

Tuesday

Light Lunch Club

Enjoy freshly prepared soups and sandwiches along with quizzes and games at Richmond Hill Community Centre, 11am to 1pm for just £2.50.

Wednesday

Women’s Wellbeing Wednesday’s

This monthly group is an opportunity for all of our female members to get together and, in a fun way, focus on health and wellbeing matters. Please call us for future dates which are all held at The Vinery Centre, 20 Vinery Terrace, LS9 9LU. This is another group that is free of charge.

Knit & Natter

A lot of nattering and a bit of knitting entirely at your own pace. The group often knit items for charity or to raise funds but whatever you want to do is also up to you. Richmond Hill Community Centre, 1:30pm to 3pm, just £1.

Thursday

The Big Lunch Club

There is a two course, home cooked meal waiting for you every Thursday with fun, games and cash bingo thrown in for good measure. From Shepherd’s Pie to roast dinners, fish and chips and everything in between, it’s all prepared and cooked fresh on the day. Richmond Hill Community Centre, 11am to 1pm, £4.50 for the meal plus a small (optional) bingo cost.

Friday

Zumba Gold!

Shake off your stresses at our lively, Latin dance inspired exercise group where you can learn routines to upbeat songs and get active while having fun. This group is held at Richmond Hill Community Centre, 11am until 12:30pm and is £3.50 per session.

Light Exercise Class

If Zumba Gold might be a bit much, don’t worry. Join us at Fewston Court Community Room off Easy Road, for some much gentler exercise which can be done stood or seated. Just £3 per session.
